New Adventures in Thomas Land

WOW! I just realized that I have not put one word on this little blog since nearly the beginning of the year.  I clearly must have been busy with other things.  Oh friends, let me tell you all the things I've been busy with:

  • In June, I took over for my boss who retired from her position as Chapter Manager after 30 years of working for our organization!  She is enjoying a very much deserved retirement with her sweet husband.   I'm thankful for the new job and it has taught me so much already about myself and about things I thought I hated like Accounting.  I  actually like it. . . . which sounds sick.   I'm still doing a lot of the event planning and running a big educational program.  I've been so crazy busy trying to learn new things that it seems so overwhelming at times.  It's getting better each day . .  I think :)
  • Matt also got a new position within his company about the same time that I got my promotion! It's a huge step up for him and I'm so proud of all the things he has accomplished in the almost 5 years we've been married.  I'm honored to be his wife and I love supporting him in everything he does.  Driving through town and seeing the amazing projects he has built in our city makes me even more proud of him.  He is so good at what he does and I love to brag about him.
  • We moved to a new house  . . . at the same time we got our new positions.  We'll just do everything at once.  Folks let's be serious - this house is in an awesome neighborhood and it is exactly what were looking for (for the most part).  However, it needed some ..... help.   Teal, mauve and magenta with 80's cream tile and white carpet are just not my thing.  So my sweet hubs being the handy man he is set to work!  My mother in law, Matt's step dad and brother helped us out so much by coming and laying the 3000 square feet of wood flooring and our sweet painter took care of the ugliness.  It's a great house and we are so, so happy there.

But the biggest adventure of all . . . we are going to be parents!  We found out the day before we closed on our house and I was going out of town to work an event for our chapter.  Again, let's just do it all at once shall we!?

Today as I write this I am 25 weeks pregnant and my little person is moving lots and doing lots of little (and big) kicking!  I've been more than blessed to have a really wonderful pregnancy with no issues or complications.  I cannot be more grateful or thankful to God for walking through this new time with me.  I seriously do not know how people make it through without Him.

We are not finding out what our sweet baby is before he/she arrives.  It's so much more fun that way and frankly I don't need to know.  I get no say in the matter and it has kept me less stressed about lots of different things.  God gives us what we need and I'm happy to say I just want a healthy, full term baby and that's all.

I promise not to let this go so long - I have lots of things to post about now :)
